Volunteer Facilitators
Application process
Our Volunteer Facilitators are vital to the success of Young TimeBank so we have a thorough application process which we have tried to ensure is as quick and simple as possible. We will keep you fully informed at each stage of the application process. We will also make sure that you have the chance to ask any further questions you have, at any stage, so that you and Young TimeBank are both sure that this is the right role for you.
Click on the ‘apply now’ link below to complete our short online application form. We will acknowledge your completed application form by email. If you are not able to apply on-line please contact us so we can arrange to post an application form to you.
When we have received your completed application form, we will arrange a short informal phone interview at a mutually convenient time or we will invite you to an information and selection session.
If the Volunteer Facilitator role still seems suitable for you after the telephone interview, you will be invited to attend a full day's training session, which includes facilitation skills, project planning skills and child protection training. The training session usually takes place on a Saturday, in Central London or Manchester.
Because you will be working regularly with young people, it is our standard procedure to require a satisfactory enhanced CRB disclosure. Having a conviction will not automatically mean unsuitability to volunteer with Young TimeBank - we will explain more about our CRB procedures at interview/ information session and training. We also require two satisfactory references from people who know you through education or employment.
You will then be matched with a suitable school near you. Your student’s weekly sessions will be arranged at a mutually convenient time for you and the school.
