The Volunteer Facilitator model
Currently offered in London (Lambeth, Southwark, Waltham Forest and Westminster) and Manchester.
The Volunteer Facilitator model provides fully-trained, selected and CRB-checked adult Volunteer Facilitators to provide ongoing support to your pupils as they carry-out and complete their project over the course of half a term to a term (or longer if desired). We provide:
- Initial workshops enabling young people to identify issues of concern and explore relevant ways to take action
- Ongoing guidance and support from Volunteer Facilitators to enable your pupils to turn their ideas into reality (This usually takes place at one-hour, weekly meetings, for a period of 6-12 weeks)
- Ongoing support to our Volunteer Facilitators and continuing contact with the school from Young TimeBank staff.
Our Volunteer Facilitators must complete a robust recruitment process to ensure they have the necessary skills and personal qualities to successfully work with a group of pupils. All of our Volunteer Facilitators must complete an application form and be interviewed before they are invited onto our training programme. Training covers child protection issues, facilitation skills and project planning. Two references are then taken up and an Enhanced CRB check carried out. Our Volunteer Facilitators are continuously monitored and supported by Young TimeBank staff.
